Commercial License for Digital Products

What a Commercial License Means

A commercial license lets you use the files in your business. You can edit the templates and create finished work for your clients. You cannot resell the original files as your own digital products.

What You Can Do

• Edit the templates for your business.
• Create printed materials for clients.
• Create social media content for clients.
• Add your branding.
• Use the files in paid client work.
• Use the text as part of your own client documents.

What You Cannot Do

• Resell the templates as digital files.
• Give the original editable files to others.
• Upload the templates to marketplaces.
• Claim the original files as your own creation.
• Share the digital folder link publicly.

PLR, MRR, and Other Licenses Explained

PLR

Private Label Rights let you edit, rebrand, and resell the files as your own product. PLR is different from a standard commercial license. Learn more about PLR at this overview.

MRR

Master Resell Rights let you sell the product and the rights to sell it. This allows buyers to resell the package to others.

Personal Use License

You can use the files only for yourself. You cannot sell work to others with this license.

Commercial License

You can use the files in your business and create finished work for clients. You cannot resell the source files as a digital product.

Examples

Allowed

• Edit a Canva template and post it for a client.
• Print a flyer and hand it out in your business.
• Use the forms inside a service package.

Not allowed

• Upload the editable file to Etsy.
• Sell the PDF as a standalone digital product.
• Share the Google Drive download folder.

When You Should Choose PLR

Choose a PLR license when you want to resell a digital product as your own. PLR is suitable for online shops, email list freebies, local business packs, and coaching products.
